What are the requirements for issuance of Private Pilot License ?
- Age not less than 17 years
- CAASL Class I/Class II Medical Certificate
- Course Completion Letter from CAASL approved Flying School
- PPL Theory examination completion result sheet issued by CAASL
- Course Completion Letter from CAASL approved Flying School
- Total 40 hrs or 35 hours if completed during a course of approved training
- 10 hrs of Solo flight time appropriate to the class rating sought
- 05 hrs Solo Cross country flight time with at least one cross flight totaling not less than 270km (150 NM) with two full stop landings at two different aerodromes.
- Instrument 05 hrs.
- Flight Instructions as per IS 72.
- English Language Proficiency. (ELPC Level 4 or higher)
- Skill test report.
A student pilot :-
1. Shall be at least 16 years of age
2. shall hold a student pilot licence (SPL)
3. shall have an appropriate valid medical certificate
4. shall not fly solo unless under the supervision of, or with the authority of, an authorized flight instructor
5. shall not fly solo in an aircraft on an international flight unless by special or general arrangement between DGCA Sri Lanka and the ICAO state concerned.
6. All applicants for flying training shall be subjected to security screening and shall obtain Security Clearance.
What are the requirements for issuance of Commercial Pilot License (CPL)?
- Age not less than 18 years
- CAASL Class I Medical Certificate
- Course Completion Letter from CAASL approved Flying School as per IS 72
- CPL/ATPL Theory examination completion result sheet issued by CAASL
- Flying experience as per IS 72 Appendix 3.
- Flight Instructions as per IS 72
- English Language Proficiency. (ELPC Level 4 or higher).
- Skill test report
What are the requirements for issuance of Airline Transport Pilot License?
- Age not less than 21 years.
- CAASL Class I Medical Certificate.
- ATPL Theory examination completion result sheet issued by CAASL.
- Flying experience as per IS 72.
- Flight Instructions as per IS 72
- English Language Proficiency. (ELPC Level 4 or higher).
- Skill test report
